Light Bulb.

Imagine a world with no light. Without light bulbs we would have to use oil lamps and candles, which would be stressful. If we didn’t have the lightbulb then our lives would be very dark. Fortunately, we don’t have that issue anymore because Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. But did he really? Thomas Edison usually gets the most credit on the light bulb because people tend to think he’s the inventor. The light bulb had many different inventors, and people who made improvements.

There was multiple of men improving and “inventing” the light bulb. Although Thomas Edison usually get’s the most credit because his light bulb was the first to become commercially valuable. With Thomas Edison light bulb being the first to become commercially valuable people frequently thinks he’s the inventor. Well your wrong; Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulbs. According to https://www.ripleys.com/,the inventor of light bulbs is Humphrey Davy, in 1806 he was the first person to think about light bulbs, it was only a piece of thin metal that would glow. Humphrey light bulbs had flaws since it would burn out to quickly, that’s when the improvement race was on.

The light bulb was around for a long time before people started trying to improve it; it was just in a different form.  This problem was later solved by Thomas Edison. In 1879, Edison developed the first practical electric light bulb. After many months of testing both trial and errors, he discovered a way to keep a bulb glowing longer. A thin cotton thread coated with carbon was the answer. When he turned on the current, it lit up and continued to burn. Within three years, Edison perfected the light bulb with a long-lasting life of over 1,400 hours. This invention led to other inventions like the electric streetlight and electrical system. It allowed the population to use this.
