Music

Everyone has their own definition of music. Some say that music is the sound and silence. Others like myself say music is much more. Music is an aural form of art that is used to express emotion and touch the hearts of the listener through the use of phrasing, dynamics, style and color. Music is a very universal art form. There are not many people in this world who do not listen to at least some form of music whether it’s pop or rock music on the radio. The video, “Stand by Me”, by Playing for a Change, is engaging because the author presents an excellent way to get his message across through music. The message of this video was to say no matter who you are or where you go, you’re going to always need someone. Whether you’re in Africa, Brazil, California or etc.… the message remains valid.   The musicians are from different countries and different cultures, but their all singing the same song. In this video the author develops a great point which is everyone should come toge

Human Bones

According to different scientists, babies have more bones than adults because some infant bones are separate pieces that gradually fuse after birth. In addition, newborns have cartilage that turns into bone over time. Adults typically have 206 bones, but infants have a combination of 300 bone and cartilage structures.          The video, “The Skelton Book”, by Dk Books, is most appealing to me, because Dk states facts; he even provides objects such as a skeleton. Dk keeps his video simple and informative. The main points about this video are for him to educate people about health and bones. Dk also explains to us why babies have more bones. According to the video “The Skelton Book”, when the human body gets older and mature, the bones tends to join which makes the bone become fewer. For example, when babies are born their skull are in many pieces, but as you get older, they join and create one bone. Did you know when babies are born their nose are made from a cartilage. The carti

Valentine's Day

When you think of Valentine’s day you think of Dates, Exchanging gifts, Chocolate, and just romantic senses. Although, we know the fundamental of Valentine’s Day, have you ever wondered who originated valentine’s day; where did the name even come from? This man named St Valentine, a priest who served during 14th century Rome, went against orders of the Emperor to cease all marriages due in part that young unmarried men made better soldiers. Valentine continued to marry young men to their brides, therefore he was beheaded outside of Rome’s gates.            There are several different assumptions about how Valentine’s Day came about.   Some people think Valentine’s Day was originated as the pagan festival "Lupercalia". Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture. This festival involved a sacrifice of a goat, for fertility and a dog, for purification. Other believe historians believe that St. Valentine helped Christians

sports

Wrestling is the world's oldest sport, defined as "the sport or activity of grappling with an opponent and trying to throw or hold them down to the ground, typically according to a code of rules. But wrestling is much more than simply trying to throw an opponent to the ground; it takes dedication, commitment and tenacity. Along with this, there are other aspects of the sport that set it apart from all others. There is no other sport out there like wrestling, besides boxing. You are by yourself out on the mat with an opponent, and it can without a doubt be frightening. In other sports you are out on a field or court with your team. If something goes wrong you can put the blame on other players, but in wrestling their is no one to blame, because it is you who is controlling what happens during the match. According to, The Editors Of Encyclopedia Britannica "there are three basic types of wrestling contest are the belt-and-jacket, catch-hold, and loose styles, all of
