Human Bones

According to different scientists, babies have more bones than adults because some infant bones are separate pieces that gradually fuse after birth. In addition, newborns have cartilage that turns into bone over time. Adults typically have 206 bones, but infants have a combination of 300 bone and cartilage structures.

The video, “The Skelton Book”, by Dk Books, is most appealing to me, because Dk states facts; he even provides objects such as a skeleton. Dk keeps his video simple and informative. The main points about this video are for him to educate people about health and bones. Dk also explains to us why babies have more bones. According to the video “The Skelton Book”, when the human body gets older and mature, the bones tends to join which makes the bone become fewer. For example, when babies are born their skull are in many pieces, but as you get older, they join and create one bone. Did you know when babies are born their nose are made from a cartilage. The cartilage is like a bone, but it’s much softer and flexible.  According to BrainStuff, the human body replaces itself every 7 to 15 years. BrainStuff states that “Skeletal cells die, and new ones grow constantly” (“Does the Human Body Replace Itself Every 7 Years”).  However, that process takes about 10 years; as the human body gets older it takes longer, which causes our bones to get weaker as we age.

The author of “The Skelton Bones”, gets this message out by using a display and having an informative tone. Dk uses visual aspects, because he has an actual skeleton object which grabs the audience attention. However, Dk video was boring; Dk could've grabbed the audience attention better by adding images, pictures, and maybe even music. On the other hand, the author of “Does the Human Body Replaces Itself Every 7 Years”, did her video a little different. The author uses several ways to catch the audience attention better. She used music, big bold letter and she also had a strong tone. Both videos explain excellent facts and make you think twice about your body.

Valentine's Day

When you think of Valentine’s day you think of Dates, Exchanging gifts, Chocolate, and just romantic senses. Although, we know the fundamental of Valentine’s Day, have you ever wondered who originated valentine’s day; where did the name even come from? This man named St Valentine, a priest who served during 14th century Rome, went against orders of the Emperor to cease all marriages due in part that young unmarried men made better soldiers. Valentine continued to marry young men to their brides, therefore he was beheaded outside of Rome’s gates.            There are several different assumptions about how Valentine’s Day came about.   Some people think Valentine’s Day was originated as the pagan festival "Lupercalia". Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture. This festival involved a sacrifice of a goat, for fertility and a dog, for purification. Other believe histori...

African American

Being an African American is sometimes hard. Decades ago, African American's barely had any rights and was treated worthlessly. African American’s was always taken like a joke, so when a African American tries to help the community, country, or just try to do positive things in general it never turns out good.   With that being said, in 1904 George Edwin Taylor became the first African American to run for president. Of course, he wasn’t taken seriously, Growing up Taylor was an orphan child and he lived in multiple homes. Taylor was a troubled child growing up; he was also humble. Who would ever imagine an African American like that to run against a white man for president? That was a huge step. According to https://www.blackenterprise.com , Taylor ran for president because, he’s beginning to see that he has got to take care of his own interests, and what’s more, that he has the power to do it.   After Roosevelt won the election over Taylor, he didn’t let that def...
